Once I had a trip and I went to a Pony Express Stop. It was a really nice place. It had a hotel by it to. I learned a lot of cool stuff about the pony express, and about the civil war. I learned about the president at that time. He was a bad president. He tried to take over the Mormon church. I am pretty sure we all know about Buffalo Bill. He was part of that process too. He was also part of the Pony Express. First of all he worked with the government, then he became an outlaw. He was friends with Calamity Jane. It is funny about his story. He was one of those cowboys you think about when you think about a cowboy. Calamity Jane is about that too.
The hotel had a lot of stuff in it. Bathtubs, sinks and all that stuff. It had a bullet hole from a misfiredgun. The person who wrote Tom Sawyer even stayed at that hotel once. I felt like I was staying at a hotel today. The person who owned it had six children. They seemed to get along mighty fi ne. I got to see how they made cloth and all of that stuff. I like that hotel they had some pretty steep stairs. You got to sit on the porch and everything. Plus I even got a wooden nickel for finding all the stuff in the hotel and writing down games soliders played and stuff like that. It wasn't worth it. If I got real nickle with a pony express on it, I would have liked it a lot better.
